Prof. L S Srinath joined IITK in the early Sixties and became famous for clarity of his thoughts and teaching. His handwriting was very clear and better than typing. He took the Mechanical Engineering Department to new heights and worked very closely with both Dr Kelkar and Dr Muthana. Our last meeting was around 1990-91 when he and Mrs Srinath visited us in our Washington residence when I was at the Embassy of India and he was at University of Maryland after his term as IITM Director. He was one of the rare professors with experience of and having contributed to the development of three fine institutions: IITK,IISc and IITM. May his soul rest in peace.
