My thesis titled 'Geodetic (GPS) and seismic investigation of crustal deformation in Himalaya' aims to understand the present tectonics of Himalayan subcontinent using GPS geodesy and earthquake modelling. For this reason, we have established a GPS network comprising eight permanent GPS reference station and three profiles of campaign stations arc-normal to Himalayan foreland. The objectives are to estimate slip rate (convergence rate)/slip partitioning of the Himalayan active zones and stochastic modeling of earthquake hazards (recurrence interval and conditional probabilities).

I worked for a couple of years as Product Manager at Weather Risk Management Services Limited (WRMSL), Chennai. The prime responsibilities were designing and pricing of index-based weather insurance, weather derivatives, extreme event analysis, weather versus crop-yield forecast (for potato, maize, paddy, apples, etc.), and weather data analysis (rainfall, temperature, humidity and foggy events).
