    of efficient compact heat exchangers is a vital need in view of the ever increasing energy
    crisis. In this work, novel and unique generic designs of compact heat exchangers were proposed,
    especially for use in nuclear safety applications, which were based on a Pulsating Heat Pipe (PHP)
    concept. Comprehensive thermal characterization of the new compact heat exchangers was undertaken.
