The foundation supports various research activities including outreach activities that intend to increase the visibility of the department and increase interaction between members of the department and renowned researchers from around the world. Below is given a brief overview of the same. Detailed reports of different activities supported by the foundation are accessible from the top menu. Details of research activities of faculty members and PhD students of the department supported by the foundation are available in the annual reports.

 
 

Research-I Foundation

The Research-I foundation was established in 2003 with an endowment of Rs. 10 crores by one of our alumni, Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman, Infosys. The aim of this foundation is to enhance the research output of the department.

The various activities of the foundation are managed by an advisory and a technical board which are comprised of several renowned academicians and researchers. The foundation supports a plethora of activities that include outreach activities, support for researchers and funding for organization of workshops seminars etc.
