Kanpur, March 23, 2026: The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur successfully organized Abhivyakti 2026, a high-impact two-day deep-tech summit that brought together India’s leading startups, policymakers, investors, and scientific leaders. Centered around the theme “Transforming Frontier Research into Global Solutions,” the event reinforced IIT Kanpur’s position as a key driver of India’s innovation ecosystem.

The summit witnessed participation from over 150 startups spanning diverse sectors, including AI/ML, MedTech, CleanTech, Defence & Aerospace, Cybersecurity, FinTech, IoT & Semiconductors, and Agritech. The presence of leading investors, ecosystem enablers, and institutional stakeholders transformed the IIT Kanpur campus into a vibrant hub for collaboration, mentorship, and deal-making.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri K. Vijayendra Pandian, IAS, Commissioner, Kanpur and Vice-Chancellor, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, along with Shri Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice-Chancellor, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.
Abhivyakti 2026 focused on addressing the critical “valley of death” — the gap between innovation and commercialization. Panel discussions explored strategies for de-risking early-stage technologies, improving access to capital, and enabling scalable growth. Key topics included regulatory challenges in MedTech, translational research frameworks, and CSR-driven funding models.
The second day emphasized action and implementation through new cohort launches, MoU signings, and hands-on workshops. A strong emphasis was placed on preparing Indian startups for global markets. A dedicated women-led panel further highlighted the importance of inclusivity in deep-tech innovation.
One of the highlights of Abhivyakti 2026 was the Pitch Battle, where startups presented their innovations before a distinguished jury. Aethrone Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. secured the first position, followed by Gofloat Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Simactricals Pvt. Ltd.
Beyond formal sessions, the event facilitated active networking through exhibition zones and investor-founder interactions, enabling real-time discussions on funding, partnerships, and mentorship opportunities.
More than a showcase, Abhivyakti 2026 served as a platform for accelerating innovation and strengthening the startup ecosystem. The event underscored SIIC’s commitment to supporting startups from research to commercialization and global expansion.
