Prof. Ashish Garg, Head of the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering at IIT Kanpur, along with Prof. Amit Prashant, Dean R&D from IIT Gandhinagar, visited Vietnam from June 2 to 18, 2025. They met with over 20 universities and institutions across Ho Chi Minh City, Central Vietnam (Da Nang), and Northern Vietnam (Hanoi). Some of the key institutions included Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), International University – VNU-HCMC (HCMIU), University of Science and Technology – Da Nang (DUT), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The team discussed joint research in areas such as AI, semiconductors, sustainability, and FINTECH, along with student and faculty exchange programs.

They also engaged with national associations and key stakeholders including the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Banking Academy of Vietnam, and government bodies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). The visit focused on strengthening academic, research, and innovation ties between India and Vietnam. It marked a meaningful step towards deeper academic and research collaboration between IIT Kanpur and Universities in Vietnam.
