The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur played host to a vibrant group of 24 Class 12 students from across India at the Ranjit Singh Rozi Shiksha Kendra (RSK), under the aegis of the Agastya International Foundation’s Science Enrichment Program. The visit offered students a rare opportunity to engage with hands-on science, creativity, and design-led learning at one of India’s premier academic institutions.

The students were welcomed by Prof. Sandeep Sangal, Principal Investigator of RSK, along with Mrs. Rita Singh, Project Executive Officer, and members of the RSK team. The day-long visit was designed to immerse the young learners in the RSK’s mission of enabling skill development, innovation, and experiential education for youth across the country.

The morning began with interactive sessions in the science labs, where students experimented with scientific phenomena in real-time. A pottery workshop was parrellely conducted which introduced another group to traditional and modern pottery techniques such as clay modeling, slip casting, and wheel throwing.

In the afternoon, interns from the RSK design team conducted creative workshops focused on sustainable design practices where students learned to upcycle discarded fabric into functional and aesthetic products. This experience highlighted the importance of sustainability and design thinking in everyday problem-solving.

The visit concluded with a powerful session on visual storytelling, encouraging students to explore communication through visual media and design. The session aimed to help participants articulate their ideas and imagination through creative expression.

The engaging and thoughtfully curated activities provided an enriching experience for the students, fostering scientific curiosity and creative confidence. The RSK team expressed their delight in hosting such enthusiastic and inquisitive young minds, reinforcing their commitment to inclusive and impactful education.
