The Office of International Relations, IIT Kanpur is pleased to announce that IIT Kanpur students have received the LOTUS (India-Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programme) Programme Award, supported by the Japan Science and Technology (JST). We sincerely thank JST for its continued support in strengthening collaborative research between IIT Kanpur and leading institutions in Japan. This recognition reflects the commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research through international academic collaboration.

The awarded research projects span diverse domains including AI-driven materials design, advanced manufacturing, energy storage, computational chemistry, fluid mechanics, and biomedical sciences. These collaborations involve premier Japanese institutions such as RIKEN, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Okayama University, Institute of Science Tokyo, NIMS, and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, addressing research challenges ranging from turbulence modeling and solid-state batteries to cancer biology, granular flows, and sustainable high-entropy alloys.
