National Centre for Geodesy (NCG, sponsored by DST, Govt. of India) (for Geoinformatics specialization):

The Geoinformatics specialization will also offer MS by Research (MS (R)) and Diploma of Institute (DIIT) programs. The programs are financially supported by the NCG. Admission in the MS (R) and DIIT programs will be through interviews only. These interviews will be held on 8th May.

MS (R): There will be support for six (6) MS (R) seats for various research projects related to geodesy. For selected candidates in MS (R) program, financial support @ Rs. 12,000/- pm for two years will be provided by the NCG. This program is open to all sponsored and other candidates. However, the requirement of GATE score is waived for the sponsored candidates. Additional eligibility requirements for MS (R) candidates are the same as for the MTech program in Geoinformatics.

DIIT (offered in three areas: Geodesy, Navigation and Mapping, and Remote Sensing/GIS) (Same qualifications as for MTech/ MS (R))

  • Preference will be given to working professionals in Government departments/institutions, Industry, and Faculty members in Academic Institutions involved in teaching and R&D in Geoinformatics.
  • No requirement for a GATE score for the DIIT program.
