Parimal K. Bharadwaj obtained his Ph.D at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1979. He spent a year at the Tokyo Institute of Tecnology as a UNESCO Fellow. He then moved to Rutgers University as a post-doc. and became a temporary assistant professor. He then joined the University of California at Davis as a senior research associate till 1987. He joined this department in December, 1987 as an assistant professor and became professor in 1995.
