Arepalli Travel Grant

In memory of his parents, Dr. Sivaram Arepalli instituted the Arepalli-Karumuri Family Grant in the Department of Physics in 2018. It supports one annual travel grant for a student of Physics to attend and deliver an invited talk at an international conference organized by reputed scientific societies such as APS, ACS, or MRS. In addition, the recipient must have a paper published or accepted in leading journals such as Nature, Science, PNAS, or PRL.

During FY 2024-25, three students were supported to present their research at prestigious international platforms:

Ruchika Dhaka delivered a talk titled “Exploring the Broadband Spectral and Timing Characteristics of GRS 1915+105 with AstroSat and NICER” at the MAXI 15 Years Conference for Time-Domain Astronomy held at Nihon University, Tokyo, Japan.

Suman Karan presented his work on “Broadband Uniform-Efficiency OAM Detector for Photonics Quantum Technologies” at the 7th International Conference on Optical Angular Momentum (ICOAM) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Priyanka Meena attended the APS Global Physics Summit 2025 organized by the American Physical Society in Anaheim, California, USA.
