Postgraduate admissions at IIT Kanpur are conducted twice every year for Ph.D. (Fall and Spring semester) and once for M.Tech. (Fall semester). Students applying through government-aided programs shall apply at the website of these programs. To view the scholarship programs, click here. Note: Students can apply directly to IIT Kanpur and through a government-aided program simultaneously. In case the student is selected but does not receive a government-funded scholarship, they can take direct admission to IITK and can avail the Institute fellowship. Eligibility To find out about the eligibility for programs at IIT Kanpur, please go through the UG Manual and PG Manual. Schedule for Applications Ph.D. applications for the Fall Semester (July to December) are accepted from March to April and for the Spring Semester (January to May) from October to November. M.Tech. applications are accepted only for the Fall semester. Fee Structure Tuition fee for all foreign nationals (from non-partner universities) is USD 1,000 in addition to mess, hostel and other charges. Detailed fee structure can be accessed here. Non-Degree Students IIT Kanpur does not provide any financial aid for non-degree students. Non degree students from partner institutions do not have to pay tuition fee when they register at IIT Kanpur.
