How to Reach IIT Kanpur
The Campus of IIT Kanpur is located off the Grand Trunk Road near Kalyanpur, about 16 km west of Kanpur city.

From Kanpur Airport:
Kanpur Airport has connecting flights to major metro cities like Kolkata/New Delhi on a daily basis. Kanpur airport is located about 25 km away from the IIT campus. Upon arrival, participants can avail taxi services on the spot or pre-book the taxi from any of the institute approved taxi services given below.
From Kanpur Central Railway Station:
Kanpur Central Railway station is well connected to most cities in North, East and Central India. It is located on the Delhi-Kolkata train route and all major trains between these cities usually pass through Kanpur. IIT Kanpur is located at a distance of about 16 kilometers from the Kanpur Central Railway Station. It is possible to hire taxis (about Rs. 350) and autorickshaws(about Rs.170) to IITK from the station. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Kanpur Central railway station to IIT Kanpur.
From Lucknow Airport
Participants coming to Kanpur by air are strongly recommended to fly into Lucknow Airport. Lucknow airport is located about 80 kms from IIT Kanpur. You can hire taxis at the airport. The typical cost will be between Rs. 1600 and Rs. 2200, depending on the vehicle used.Charges for Air-conditioned taxi is only Rs. 100/- to 200/- extra.

Accommodation will be provided in visitor hostels/student hostels within IIT Kanpur Campus on twin sharing basis.

For Foreign visitors
You may take a flight to New Delhi/Kolkata/Mumbai and then a flight to Lucknow. From Lucknow airport, taxi takes about 2 hours to reach Kanpur. Alternatively you may take a train from Delhi to Kanpur. There are some good trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi that run from Delhi to Kanpur which require prior booking of seat.
