Women’s Association, IIT Kanpur Hosts Diwali Mela 2025 The Women’s Association of IIT Kanpur organized a colorful and spirited Diwali Mela on October 11, 2025, at the Marriage Lawns, Community Center, Type-2.

The event, aimed for the entire campus community witnessed enthusiastic participation from the staff and students alike. The participants at the mela included many individual entrepreneurs who not only came in from Kanpur City, but also from various corners of the country like Bengal, Kashmir, to name a few. The evening began with lighting of lamp and devi pooja, setting a traditional and devotional tone for the celebration. This was followed by the official opening of the mela after which Mrs. Amrita Bhushan, wife is the Deputy director, IIT Kanpur took a round of all the stalls. This time the mela witnessed an unprecedented response, with over 50 entrepreneurs participating in the Diwali Mela. The celebration featured food stalls offering delicious treats, because the spirit of any mela is the food that keeps up the spirits soaring high and higher. Life was enthused in the Diwali Mela by the live performance of a band. Their electrifying performance added zing and energy to the crowd that will remain etched in the memory of the campus community for a long time.

The Diwali Mela once again spread the fun and frolic associated with any festival, amongst the campus community. The performances, energy, and participation made it a memorable evening for all.
