The Computer Center Web Team provides services to develop and maintain personal home pages for faculty members, students, and research staff.

Research group or personal webpage is currently the responsibility of individual faculty members or students. These are either hosted as home.iitk.ac.in/~username or at other web domains (such as google). However, faculty members and students are busy with their own research work/studies and find difficulty in creating or maintaining their research/home pages. Many do not have the expertise to create new websites, which are modern and secure. Existing websites made by faculty members are scattered, inconsistent, or outdated.

To address this issue, CC Web Team can offer services in making modern personal home/research pages on payment basis. The new webpages will be easily navigable, secure, and informative platform for students, researchers, and stakeholders.

Content Migration

• Transfer of existing faculty data (text, images, and other media)

Default Inclusions

The following services are included by default:

• Domain Name: Provided as default
• SSL Certificate: Included if hosted on the in-house server
• Web Space: Allocated as per policy

Any request for a new domain, SSL certificate, or additional web space beyond policy will be chargeable as applicable, and such payments must be made directly by the concerned faculty member.

Timeline:

• Project Kickoff: Within 2 days of approval
• Website Development: 7-10 business days
• Content Migration & Finalization: 5-7 business days
• Testing & Deployment: 2-3 business days
• VAPT (if required): Depending on the external agency that will conduct VAPT

Charges

Payment Terms

• Payment to be made to the LDA account (IITK/DDIA/2025025) for web development.
• For additional services like a new domain or third-party services (e.g., additional web space beyond the default allocation), the requester must purchase directly.
• 100% advance to be paid before the commencement of the project.
• Annual maintenance fee and optional services are to be paid for in advance.

T&C and Disclaimer

1. Content & Graphics Responsibility:
   • All textual content, images, and other media must be provided by the requester.
   • The requester is solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content provided.
2. Legal Compliance & Copyright:
   • The website development team will not be responsible for any copyright violations related to text, images, or other materials provided by client.
   • Any legal disputes or claims regarding content ownership or misuse will be the sole responsibility of the faculty member providing the content.
3. Website Security & VAPT :
   • If security testing is required, it will be conducted by an external agency, and additional charges will apply based on their assessment.
   • The website will follow standard security best practices, but the requester must ensure regular updates or opt for maintenance services to enhance security.
4. Limitation of Liability:
   • The CC web team will not be responsible for any data loss, hacking incidents, or third-party service failures (e.g., hosting provider issues).
   • While necessary precautions will be taken, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
5. Modification & Content Updates:
   • Any updates or modifications after project completion will be chargeable as per the agreed rates.
   • The requester is responsible for informing about outdated or incorrect content.
