Introduction

Current Issue:

  • The single sign-on (SSO) system uses the same username and password for all services, leading to security vulnerabilities.
  • The development and maintenance of the homepages for faculty members is delayed.
  • The current hosting space allocation is inadequate for various user groups, especially project staff.

Need for Improvement:

  • Separate login credentials for increased security.
  • Easy development and maintenance of the homepage.
  • Increased storage quotas for better research support and collaboration.

Separate Login

Current Issue:

The single sign-on system uses the same username and password for all services, posing security concerns.

Proposed Solution:

Implement separate passwords for different services while retaining the same username structure.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Security: Differentiated passwords improve account protection.
  • Improved User Experience: Streamlined access for faculty and students.
  • Easy maintenance: Easy development and maintenance of the homepage

Space Quota Increase

Current Allocations:

  • Academic Staff: 250 MB
  • Students: 50 MB
  • Project Staff: Not available

Suggested Updates:

  • Academic Staff: Increased to 1 GB
  • Institute Post Doctoral Fellows: Introducing a new 500 MB quota
  • Students: Increased to 250 MB
  • Project Employees: Introducing a new 50 MB quota (On a payment basis, case by case – on recommendation by Project PI)

Benefits:

  • Enhanced space for academic work, research, and collaboration.
  • Adequate resources for the Institute Post Doctoral Fellows staff and their documentation.
