Shri Shirish Joshi

Shri Shirish Joshi is the Principal at Tesla Design LLC, a private consulting group based in the San Francisco Bay area.Tesla Design started in 2003 to provide internet-driven services to small non-tech businesses who, at the time, had little knowledge of the internet and how to use its many possibilities.

He received his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology,Kanpur and his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. In his 40+ year career, he has worked at Dunlop India, Oracle Corp, Genesys Telecommunications, and consulted with Google for over ten years. At Oracle he played a key role in the specification, development and launch of the industry's first Business Intelligence suite. At Genesys, he supported all the marketing initiatives for the industry's first automated workforce optimization product. From 2010 till 2020, he provided go-to-market support services to the newly-formed Google for Work group (now known as Google Web Services) to drive their initial and ongoing business efforts. He has been a trusted advisor to numerous small businesses in the non-technology space.

Shri Shirish Joshi is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has supported IIT Kanpur over a period of over 25 years. His major contributions include involvement in the formation of the IITK Alumni Association Silicon Valley Chapter, content contributions for the IITK Golden Jubilee celebrations, and over four years of continuing effort to bring the story of IITK to life through a revival of the Spark magazine.

Honouring his stellar contributions to the institute, IIT Kanpur confers upon Shri Shirish Joshi the Distinguished Services Award 2025.
