Dr. Deepak Narula is the Founder and Managing Partner of Metacapital Management, one of
the most experienced hedge fund managers specializing in mortgage-backed securities (MBS)
and structured credit investing. He has over thirty years of experience in this sector. As the
Chief Investment Officer of Metacapital, he is involved in all aspects of the firm's overall
development and investment strategy. He also serves on the Board of Directors at the Vedanta
Society of New York.
He holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
(1985) and a Ph.D in Management Science from Columbia University (1989). In addition, he
has taught courses at Columbia Business School. Prior to founding Metacapital in 2001, Dr.
Narula was Managing Director and head of MBS trading desks at Lehman Brothers, building
a highly profitable business for the firm. Previously, Dr. Narula worked in Mortgage Research
