P. D. Murty Memorial Distinguished Speaker lecture Series

The P.D. Murty Memorial Distinguished Speaker Lecture Series, instituted by Mr. Ram Mohan (BT/AE/1970) and Mrs. Shiela Mohan, aims to promote management awareness among engineers and provide a platform for discussions on contemporary management issues and trends. Mr. Mohan is a seasoned professional in enterprise electronic commerce and supply-chain management, with over 25 years of executive experience at KPMG Consulting and Amdahl Corp. At KPMG Consulting, he served as a senior partner, working with major clients such as Hewlett-Packard and GE Capital. An entrepreneur as well, he co-founded iSpring Corp., where he played a key role in shaping the company's business plan, financing, management team, and product strategy.

Mr. S. N. Mukherjee

Mr. S. N. Mukherjee, COO of IL&FS, delivered a lecture focusing on "sustainable solutions in waste management, with particular emphasis on an integrated approach to Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM)". The talk highlighted the role of carbon finance as an important component of MSW projects, demonstrating how it can support sustainable practices. He also discussed how carbon financing can catalyze composting initiatives and improve the overall financial viability of waste management projects.



Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma

Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, (former Chairman at Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and who led the Aadhaar team as the first Director- General of Unique Identification Authority of India), gave his lecture on the context of Unique IDs in India, Goals, Design Principles,Technology Architecture and Features of Aadhaar and Challenges during project implementation. He also talked about the products and services built on top of Aadhaar and the potential of this digital Identity. Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma is credited with this singular achievement of what-is-today, the world's largest bio metric system, and without doubt, one of the robust architectural implementations of digital technology. He captured his experiences in this regard in his recently published book "The Making of Aadhaar: World's largest Identity Platform"
