Academic Background:
Dr. Katti received his Ph.D from University of Mumbai and his post-doctoral training from Drexel University, USA. He then served as Assistant Professor (Research Track) at Drexel University and then as Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) at University of Virginia before joining the BSBE Department in April, 2004 .
Research Interests:
The focus of Dr. Katti's laboratory is to develop biomaterial based technologies for controlled drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. The main research interests are:
- Novel nanotechnology based approaches for growth factor delivery and tissue engineering applications.
- Research involving the development of three-dimensional scaffolding systems for the engineering of human tissues.
- Development of biodegradable polymer based systems for the delivery of bioactive molecules such as anticancer agents
