The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at IIT Kanpur offers BS, BS-MS (dual-degree) and M.Sc programmes in Mathematics and Statistics. Admission to the BS programme is through the Joint Entrance Examination. The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is conducted for admission to M.Sc. (Four Semesters) to all IITs. Admission to the M.Sc (Mathematics) and M.Sc (Statistics) programme are purely based on the performance in JAM.
