'विचारों' की ई-सेल और Techkriti की प्रमुख घटना है, the annual technological and entrepreneurial festival of IIT Kanpur. ‘IDEAS’ is all about creativity that one associates with the human mind. Held on the lines of Harvard and Wharton B-Plan competition with exquisite professionalism, elite judgment panel from powerful people around the world, innovative exuberance, plethora of learning, exposure to the venture capitalist world, the event promises to be the one of its kind in India. The Business Plan Competition invites entries and after passing through three different stages of rigorous evaluation, the best B-plan wins. IDEAS is one of the foremost events for budding entrepreneurs: a forum providing entrepreneurs with the best possible resources – including education, networking, team creation, mentorship and new venture financing – to help turn innovative ideas into real businesses. In 2012, the event saw an enormous participation with over 1200 entries involving international participation amounting to 5 over the three stages of competition. The E-Cell provided 60 mentors to develop entrepreneurship across the globe. Event Structure : The event is divided into three rounds with the finalists of each round moving to the next round –

ROUND I: Submission of Executive Summary of B-Plan
ROUND II: Mentorship and Elevator Pitching including Pitch Deck, Mentorship Programme and Elevator Pitching
ROUND III: The finalists would exclusively attend a Skill and Value Creation Workshop and then closed door pitching in front of the reputed VCs of India.

Judging Criteria :

Concept: Originality of Idea and Feasibility of Business Model
Market: Evidence of demand for the venture in the marketplace
Performance Benchmarks: Access the Performance milestones articulated in the business
Financial Aspects: The potential for the venture to receive financial support from investors.
Risk assessment and Contingency Plans: Identify risk factors and plan for mitigating them.
Demonstrated Leadership Ability: Quantify venture’s leader ability to achieve results.
Social Impact Assessment: Reach, depth and quality of social impact
