Procedure for activating and updating Microsoft Products in IIT Kanpur Campus

The procedure below explains how to activate Windows 7. Similar procedure shall be applicable for other MS products.
Assuming that the network is working fine and internet is accessed through proxy, then it should be set to no proxy because the windows activation requires direct access to internet.
To set “no proxy” settings for the system to get direct access to the internet, we must change the settings in the Internet Explorer whether or not you use it for browsing, because all other applications use the IE settings for information.

To configure No-Proxy Click Here
Open Control Panel ->
Select System ->
Click Change Product Key or Activate Windows now ->
Input 25 alphanumeric characters Key in the product Key Box and Click Next, you will get the following screen of Successful activation.
The Product Key comes with your OS CD Pack.
