Comsol 6.2 Installation Guide

Getting Started

The Comsol 6.2 software is available for download from the CC FTP site.
Download Comsol 6.2

Mount the .iso file of Comsol 6.2 by double-click on it. Go To Windows Explorer and open the COMSOL drive (e.g. "D:\") and run the setup from it.

License Configuration

License Server: akash3.cc.iitk.ac.in | Port: 1718

Campus network connectivity is required. Configure DNS Suffixes if using static IP (how-to).

Matlab Integration

If Matlab is installed, you'll be asked to specify the Matlab installation root (e.g., C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2022b) during setup.

Installation Walkthrough

Step 1

Select the prefered language and click on "Next" button.

Step 2

Click on the icon for New COMSOL 6.2 Installation.

Step 3

Accept License terms and conditions. Select <port number>@<host name> from the License Format Enter Port: 1718 and Host: akash3.cc.iitk.ac.in. Click "Check" to verify.
Campus Network connectivity required. Configure DNS Suffixes.

Step 4

Click Close.

Step 5

Uncheck "License Manager" and click "Next" button.

Step 6

Select "Install for all users". Click "Next" button.

Step 7

Click "Next" button.

Step 8

If Matlab is installed on the respective PC, browse to the matlab installation root (e.g. C:\Program files\MATLAB\R2022b). Click "Next" and "Install".

Step 9

Click "Install".

Step 10

Wait for the installation to complete.

Step 11

Click "Close".

Installation Complete!

Comsol 6.2 is ready to use.
