Getting Started
The Comsol 5.0 software is available for download from the CC FTP site.
Download Comsol 5.0
Extract using 7-Zip (32-bit,
64-bit)
to a local drive (e.g., D:\) and run setup.
License Configuration
License Server: akash3.cc.iitk.ac.in (Port: 1718)
Campus network connectivity is required. Configure DNS Suffixes if using static IP (how-to).
Installation Notes
Select "Full Installation" and uncheck "License Manager". If Matlab is present, specify its root directory during setup.
Installation Walkthrough
Swipe or tap arrows to navigate
Select the prefered language and click on "Next" button.
Click on the icon for "New COMSOL 5.0 Installation" and click on "Next" button.
Select "I accept the terms in license agreement".
Select the option <port number>@<host name> from the License Format
dropdown.
Enter Port: 1718 and Host: akash3.cc.iitk.ac.in. Click "Check" to
verify.

License information verified. Click "Close".
Select the option for your Windows version (32-bit or 64-bit) and click "Next".
Select "Full Installation" and remove the check mark from "License Manager".
If Matlab is installed, browse to the Matlab installation root and click "Next".
Click "Install" to begin installation and wait for progress to complete.
Installation will copy files and finish setup.
Click "Finish" to complete the setup.
Installation Complete!
Comsol 5.0 is ready to use.
