Ansys 2021 R1 Electromagnetics Installation Guide

Getting Started

The Ansys 2021 R1 Electromagnetics package is available from the CC FTP site.
Download Ansys 2021 R1 Electromagnetics

Extract the ZIP to a local drive (e.g., D:\) and run the setup from the extracted folder.

Pre-install Note

Recommended: Install Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2015 before Ansys (if not already installed).

Download: VS_Express2015.zip

License / Network

When prompted, specify the license server 172.31.1.198 and TCP/IP port 1055. Campus network connectivity is required to run and activate Ansys. Configure DNS suffixes as needed (how-to).

Installation Walkthrough

Step 1

Run setup and click Install Electromagnetics Suite.

Step 2

Click Next.

Step 3

Click Yes to continue.

Step 4

Click Next to proceed with defaults.

Step 5

Keep default settings and click Next.

Step 6

Select This local installation and continue.

Step 7

Select No and click on the Next button.

Step 8

Choose I want to specify a license server when prompted.

Step 9

Enter server 172.31.1.198 and enable Specify Server TCP/IP port number with port 1055.

Step 10

Click Next to continue.

Step 11

Wait for the installation to complete.

Done

Click Finish to complete the installation.

Installation Complete!
