Material Advantage at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, an initiative of the students of the Department of Materials Science & Engineering is the only second chapter in the country and is actively involved in popularizing Material Science and Engineering.
As a part of the same effort, we organize many technical and non technical events such as the Understanding Lecture Series, MA Extempore, Poster Presentation Contest, Micrography Contest, Quiz Contest for school students and many more. (We also extend our help in other institute initiatives such as tree plantation etc.) This is to encourage students to delve into the field of material science, a science that governs the properties and applicability of all classes of materials and hence, is the foundation of any engineering or technology development. All events witness participation from students of various departments all over the institute and from other local engineering colleges.
