April 17, 2005 Dr.J.K.Shah at Akshi Eye Care Centre, clinic of Dr.Malay Chaturvedi, Azad Nagar did 10 successful eye surgery and those operations were displayed to many doctors at L14, IIT Kanpur live. That was the first Tele Transmission Of Eye Surgery in the Indian history. We have established a wireless link between Akshi eye care centre and L14 in two hops. One hop was between Akshi and BSNL tower at MLA and second one was between BSNL tower at MLA and L14, IIT kanpur. Akshi was the transmitter and L14 was the receiver.

One day PCO at Sarauhan

A PCO experiment was conducted at Sarauhan using 802.11 as proof-of-concept that phone calls can be made over an 802.11 network. This created great excitement among the villagers who got this facility very first time in their village for which they had to walk five kilometers to reach the nearest PCO (Public Call Office).
