  • The SPICE model (Titled: ASM-HEMT) developed jointly by Dr. Yogesh Chauhan (Department of Electrical Engineering) and Dr Sourabh Khandelwal (Macquarie University) has been selected as the world’s first industry standard model for Gallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistor (GaN HEMT) by Silicon Integration Initiative’s Compact Model Coalition (CMC).

  • Professor V. K. Jain (ME) has been conferred the life time achievement award of AIMTDR 2014 for his contributions to the education & research in the field of manufacturing as well as to the activities of All India Manufacturing, Technology, Design and Research (AIMTDR) Conferences. AIMTDR series of conferences is a biennial event organized since 1967. In each conference, one person from Academia and one from Industry is chosen for the award.   • Dr Arun Kumar Shukla (BSBE) has been awarded with the Wellcome Trust/ DBT India Alliance Intermediate Fellowship for the year 2014. This highly competitive scheme supports excellent scientists at mid career to undertake high-quality research and to establish themselves as independent researchers. The fellowship is for a period of five years, and comes with substantial funding up to Rs 3.5 crores. Dr Shukla is the second recipient of this fellowship; Dr Shukla (BSBE) received this award last year.

  • Professor Sandeep Verma (CHM) has been chosen for the OPPI Scientist Award 2014 for his research work in modelling protein aggregation in the area of neurodegenerative disorders and towards discovery of small molecule inhibitors of such processes. OPPI awards recognize scientific contributions of significance, from scientists in India, in the field of human healthcare. The award carries a memento, a citation, and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and will be presented later this month in Mumbai.

  • Professor C Venkatesan (AE), titled "Fundamentals of Helicopter Dynamics", has been recently published by the CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group.

  • Professor Manindra Agrawal (CSE) has been selected for the ACCS-CDAC Foundation Award for 2014 by the Advanced Computing and Communications Society. This award is given to Professor Agrawal for his path breaking work in designing the first deterministic polynomial-time test for primality of numbers and defining the bounds on the arithmetic complexity of polynomials which is one of the central open problems in complexity theory. The ACCS-CDAC Foundation Award which carries a cash prize, a citation and a plaque will be presented at the inaugural session of the annual Advanced Computing and Communications Conference (ADCOM 2014) in Bangalore at the Electronic City campus Wipro Technologies.
