Work Package 3 focuses on translating fundamental surfactant and polymer research into advanced applications across multiple industrial sectors, including healthcare, home and personal care, energy, and environmental sustainability. The objective is to develop innovative formulations and surface-active coatings that enhance product performance, durability, and environmental compatibility.
This work package integrates experimental and computational approaches to design and evaluate surfactant–polymer systems for targeted applications such as enhanced oil recovery, CO₂ sequestration, drug delivery, and protective or functional coatings. Key areas include rheological and microstructural studies, wettability alteration, and the development of bio-mimetic, biodegradable, and thermally adaptive polymeric films.
Through the creation of smart, green, and multifunctional materials, this work package aims to advance sustainable technologies for next-generation industrial, pharmaceutical, and environmental solutions—supporting India’s transition toward self-reliant, circular, and eco-innovative manufacturing.
