Welcome to SOM 2019
In light of ever-increasing competition and environmental uncertainties, management of resources has become a matter of critical importance for every organization. In this context, Operations Management (OM) can play a pivotal role in the efficient and effective conversion of resources into desired products and services. The annual conference of the Society of Operations Management (SOM) provides a platform for the academicians and the practitioners in the field of OM and allied areas where they can share knowledge and experience and discuss new ideas on the traditional as well as contemporary topics in OM through presentation of research papers, panel discussions, and informal interactions. Since the conference will be a congregation of academicians, practitioners, and doctoral students, both theories and practices of OM are expected to get due prominence and complement each other during the course of the conference.
XXIII SOM conference is expected to host more than 100 presentations from different institutions across the globe addressing contemporary issues related to OM. SOM 2019 conference will witness expert talks, keynote addresses, and panel discussions by eminent academicians and practitioners such as Prof. Devanath Tirupati (President, SOM), Prof. G Raghuram (Director, IIM Bangalore), Prof. Kalyanmoy Deb (Professor, Michigan State University, USA) to name a few.
