Events:

  •  Aqua Polo - The Open Water Polo tournament in the shallow (limited no. of  teams)

  •  Deep Water Polo

 Men:

50 metre - Freestyle* , Breaststroke* , Backstroke* , Butterfly
100 metre - Freestyle , Breaststroke , Backstroke

Women:

50 metre -  Freestyle , Backstroke , Breaststroke

Rules & Regulations for Aqua Polo( Shallow Water Polo):  

  1. There will be 5 players a side for the match and a max. of 8 players can register in a team for the case of substitution.

  2. For the initial rounds each game will consist of 2 halves of 10min each with a break of 1.5 min in between and for the semi-finals and finals the time will be increased to 15 min/half.

  3. A max of 1 time-out of 30 seconds will be allowed to each team per half.

  4. The teams registering for the Shallow Water Polo should not consist of more than two insti players in their team. In case of their clash with a team which consists no insti player, only one of the insti players of their team will be allowed to play.\

  5. Everybody should bring his own costume.

  6. The decision of the referee will be final.

  7.   Walk Over will be awarded strictly if the opposing team is late by more than 10 min. The swimming pool timings can't be changed so this action must be taken.

Note: An insti player is one who has gone to any of the Inter-IIT Aquatics meets.  

Rules for shooting:

  1. Shooting the goal will not be allowed from within the diving board no. 2 on one side and diving board no.7 on other side.
  2.  In case of a free pass given to player he should not take more than 5 seconds to release the ball.

Free Pass : A player will be allowed to throw the ball without any interference from the opponent side but the pass can be intercepted by them.

  1. In case of man-handling of the offender penalty shoot or the man-out may be given on the discretion of the referee.

Penalty Shoot : Offender will be given a chance to shoot from the specified mark without any protection from the opponent side except the goal keeper.

Man-out : A player can be thrown out of the game for a period of 30seconds or 2mins for serious fouls.

Fouls in the game:

# A foul may be given for the following reasons 

a)       Using abusive language inside the pool.

b)       Man-handling (such as holding costumes etc.) of a player.

c)       Shooting from within a zone inside the diving board no.2 on one side and diving board no. 7 on other side.

d)       Throwing the ball outside the playing zone.

e)       Ducking the ball inside the water.

f)         Holding the ball with both hands.
