Research Topic: Indianisation of English in Contemporary Indian English Fiction
The process of Indianisation of English began in the later half of the eighteenth century. The Indian variety of English deviates significantly from the native English in choice of words, in metaphor and in the nuances of meaning. The proposed study seeks to investigate this process from contemporary selected Indian English novels as a prefigurative force in communication strategy and defines its adaptive, forceful and incongrous nature.
