 Research Title

 

Health and Illness Representations among the Bondo Highlanders

 

The objective of the present study is to focus on the Social Representations of illness among the Bondo Highlanders. This tribe is still considered as a primitive group of India, protected by the Orissa Government from interference of outsiders. The study examines the subjective concept of ‘Health’ and ‘Illness’, the indigenous practice of treatment and classification and description of different illness conditions. It also aims to focus on the Health Policy of tribes in India.
