It provides facilities for drawing and painting classes, surface painting, printmaking (litho, etching, etc), black & white photography, animation, film and video technology, 2-D & 3-D exercises, fabrication of prototype models, environmental design-scale models, landscaping design, and carpentry & woodwork (wielding, shaping, turning, etc). The infrastructure carries composite injection mould & vacuum forming machine for plastics, milling machine (01), lathe machine, air compressor, PCs, scanner, CD writer, LCD projector, and darkroom facility. The studio proposes to procure equipment for visual communication, editing platform (FC Pro), digital and SLR still cameras, 3CCD DV camcorder, mechanical hardware tools for product design, powder coating machine, electric kiln for ceramics, motorized litho-cum-etching machine, etc.

Language laboratory

The department has a computerized laboratory with 32 booths, each equipped with a cassette recorder and video monitor linked to the main console. The lab is used for teaching of languages but can also be used for conducting seminars and making presentations with its built-in conferencing facility. Presently, the lab is used for teaching foreign language courses in French, German and Japanese, which are also open to the general public. Courses in English, with emphasis on spoken and communicative uses, are also taught.

Psychology Laboratory

The psychology laboratory offers adequate facilities for conducting experimental research in perception, memory, psychomotor and intellectual abilities, personality, and group dynamics. The laboratory also has some educational films that can be used for teaching purposes. Facilities exist for carrying out formal assessment of abilities and personality, which can be used for purposes such as vocational counseling, self-development, and training for managerial skills.

Other Facilities/Computer Lab and Library

The department has access to several computer software, such as SAS, SPSS, MATLAB and so on. Digital cameras and cassette tape-recorders are available for the conducting of fieldwork. The Institute's Kelkar Library has an excellent humanities and social sciences collection, to which regular additions are actively and aggressively made. A small departmental library also supplements it. All the major journals are available in areas on which research is being conducted, many of them in both print and online formats.
