Precautions & Repairs:

Repairing the scientific glassware should be attempted with caution. Assuming the glassware was broken in use in the laboratory,  the glass will have some chemical residue on or in it. Do not attempt to repair any glassware until it has been cleaned to your satisfaction. Many glassblowers, as a policy, will not accept the glassware for repairing until the user has cleaned the glass with chemical and grease free. Precaution should be taken, as the chemical residue in the uncleaned

glassware will generate some hazard ors  gases while heating, which will directly affect the glass blower lungs.

Safety:

Burns and cuts are quite often while working with glass and glassblowing. Before working, ensure that the working area is clean & tidy with the windows open and the exhaust fans are part on in order to make the working room free of hazardous gases evolved. Always know about the exits, gas shut-off valves, fire extinguishers, first aid boxes inorder to have it at the time of emergency. It is advisable to wear the protective clothing and eyeglass. Do not work alone, he sure that someone is nearly to offer some assistance if necessary.  

Your glassblowing facility must adhere to all local, state and federal regulation for personal, property and environmental protection.
