Aditya H. Kelkar

(Ph.D., TIFR, Mumbai, 2009) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Dr. Aditya Kelkar joined the department in 2014. He obtained his doctoral degree in physics from TIFR, Mumbai in 2009. His Ph.D. topic was the investigation of collective plasmon resonance in fullerene (C60), in collision with MeV energy highly charged heavy ions. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the Max-Plank-Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, Germany and the Institute for Ion and Applied Physics, University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck. He also worked as a post-doctoral visiting scientist at TIFR briefly.

His present research interests are in experimental atomic collision physics with fast/slow heavy ions and electrons, probing many body effects and collective behaviour in intermediate size systems such as atomic/molecular clusters and large molecules.
