Ph.D. student Mr. Sagar Paul (PHY) and Post-Doc fellow Dr. Ganesh Kotagiri (PHY) (Their Supervisor: Prof. Anjan Gupta) has received the "J. C. Bose Prize for Innovation in Method" for a poster presentation titled, "Magnetic reversal through vortex nucleation in a single magnetic nano-particle probed using Nb micro-SQUIDs in hysteresis free mode" at a conference "National Conference conference in electron spectroscopy-2019" held in SNBNCBS, Kolkata during 26-29 Nov 2019.

Ph.D. student Divya Rawat (Ph.D. supervisor Prof. Pankaj Jain) has been awarded the COSPAR Visiting fellowship and she will be visiting the School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Southampton, UK, for a period of 2 months, to carry out joint research with Dr. Diego Altamirano.

Ph.D. student Ms. Jayashree Majumdar (Ph.D. supervisor: Prof. Sudeep Bhattacharjee) has received the poster presentation prize for the poster titled " Field emission properties of atomically heterogeneous metallic nanostructures created by microwave plasma generated low energy ion beams” authored by Jayashree Majumdar, Krishn Pal Singh, and Sudeep Bhattacharjee, in the 12th International Conference on Plasma Science and Applications (ICPSA 2019), held at the Department of Physics, University of Lucknow during November 11-14, 2019.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar (PhD student of Prof.S.Anantha Ramakrishna) got the best poster award in the international conference PHOTONICS 2018 held in Delhi during 13-15 Dec 2018. He was presented with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs.10,000.

Poulami Nandi (Ph.D student of Dr.Arjun Bagchi ) has been awarded a Fulbright doctoral fellowship for a period of 9 months.

Pulastya Parekh (Ph.D student of Dr.Arjun Bagchi ) has been awarded a Junior Research Fellowship for spending 4 months at the Erwin Schrodinger Institute in Vienna.

Two Ph.D students, Supratim Das Bakshi and Sourav Biswas , are co-recipients of the Arepalli-Karumuri travel grant (administered by IIT Kanpur) for 2018.

Ms. Pratyasha Sahani, Ph.D. student of Physics (Supervisor: Prof. R.Vijaya) has received the Best Poster Award in "OSI - International Symposium on Optics" organised at IIT Kanpur during 19-22 September, 2018. The title of her poster was "Planar photonic crystal as a polarizer for the out-of-plane incidence of light", The award consists of a certificate and a cash award of Rs. 3500.

Mr. Dibya Jyoti Sivananda, Ph.D. student of Physics (Supervisor: Prof. Satyajit Banerjee) has received the Best Poster Award in "National Conference On Quantum Condensed Matter(Q-Mat)," organised at IISER Mohali, India from 25th - 27th July, 2018. The title of his poster was "Stepwise disintegration of magnetic domains in a EuB6 single crystal observed by magneto-optical imaging". The award consists of a certificate and a cash award of Rs. 5000.

Sudarshana Laha, (Roll no. 17109869) Ph.D. student of Physics (Supervisor: Prof. Amit Dutta) has received the best poster award in "National Conference On Quantum Condensed Matter," organised at IISER Mohali, India from 25th - 27th July, 2018. The award consists of a certificate and a cash award of Rs. 5000.

Mr. Ishan Deo, first-year B.S (Physics) student, is selected by KVPY to attend the Thirteenth Asian Science Camp-2019 to be held in China during 28th July to 3rd Aug, 2019.

Poulami Nandi, Ph.D student of Physics dept, has been awarded a Fulbright doctoral fellowship for a period of 9 months.

Pulastya Parekh, Ph.D student of Physics dept, has been awarded a Junior Research Fellowship at the Erwin Schrodinger Institute in Vienna.

Ms. Meenaxi Sharma, PhD student of Physics dept, has received the "Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research" (AWSAR)-2018 award from DST for her popular science story entitled “Slippery Coatings for Highly Viscous Complex Fluids on Solid Surfaces”. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a certificate of appreciation.

Ummer K.V (Ph.D student of Physics) received the Best Innovative Research award in the international conference ICONN 2015 held in Chennai during Feb.4-6, 2015, for his oral presentation on “Photonic band edge induced enhancement in absorption and emission” co-authored by Ummer K.V. and R.Vijaya

Bahadur Singh was awarded Best Oral Presentation Award in he International Conference on Condensed Matter Physics (ICCMP-2014) held at HPU Shimla from 4-6 November, 2014.

Ms Shail Pandey, Ph.D students has received a poster award at the 28th National Symposium on Plasma Science and Technology (PLASMA - 2013)organized by the Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI)at Bhubaneswar.

Gyanendra Kumar (Ph.D student) received the Best Poster award in the 8th Conference on Nonlinear Systems and Dynamics (CNSD), held at IIT Indore, during Dec 11-14, 2013, for his poster on “Chaos under pump and loss modulation in Erbium doped fibre laser” co-authored by Gyanendra Kumar and R.Vijaya

"Thermoelectric properties of an ultra-thin topological insulator" by Islam, SK; Ghosh, Tarun, in Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter 26, 165303 (2014) has been selected for inclusion in the IOP Select.
