Prof. Aditya K. Jagannatham

Prof. Aditya K. Jagannatham received the B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, San Diego, USA. From April '07 to May '09 he was a senior wireless systems engineer at Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, California, where he worked on developing HSDPA mobile chipsets as part of the Qualcomm CDMA technologies (QCT) division. His research interests are in the area of next-generation wireless cellular and WiFi networks, with special emphasis on various 5G technologies such as massive MIMO, mmWave MIMO, FBMC, NOMA, Full Duplex, Cooperative Communication, Cognitive Radio and others. He has contributed to the 802.11n high throughput wireless LAN standard and has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences. He was awarded the CAL(IT)2 fellowship for pursuing graduate studies at the University of California San Diego and the Upendra Patel Achievement Award at Qualcomm.

Since 2009 he has been a faculty member in the Electrical Engineering department at IIT Kanpur, where he is currently a Professor, and is also associated with the BSNL-IITK Telecom Center of Excellence (BITCOE). At IIT Kanpur he has been twice awarded the P.K. Kelkar Young Faculty Research Fellowship (2012 -2015, 2015-2018) for excellence in research and the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (QInF) for research on mmWave MIMO Radio Technology for 5G. His popular video lectures for the NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) course on Advanced 3G and 4G Wireless Mobile Communications can found at the following YouTube link (NPTEL 3G/ 4G). He has also successfully conducted several Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on various topics related to signal processing and wireless communication such as CDMA/ MIMO/ OFDM Wireless Systems, Principles of Communication Systems, Estimation for MIMO/ OFDM Cellular and Sensor Networks, and several others, which have been widely appreciated. A book written by him titled "Principles of Modern Wireless Communications Systems" has been published by Tata McGraw Hill and comprehensively covers several key aspects of modern wireless technologies.

 





Mr. Pavan Kaivaram

Pavan is working in Qualcomm Inc. as Principal Engineer in systems group. He has 14years of industry experience in areas of AS, NAS of 3GPP technologies, C2K (3GPP2) technologies and networking protocols. He completed his M.S. in Rutgers university NJ and B.Tech from IIT Madras and currently holds 25 patents.

 

Mr. Venkata Gautham Chavali

Gautham is a Modem Systems Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited. He has 6 years of industry experience across various wireless technologies including GSM, CDMA2000, WCDMA and TDSCDMA. He obtained his B.Tech and MTech degrees from IIT Madras and PhD degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
