Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Project Engineer in a project funded by the SERB, Government of India. The position is for one year but can be extended for another based on performance.

Scale of pay: Consolidated stipend in the salary range 22000-2200-44000. Accomodation on campus may be available.

Job description: This is a joint effort between three laboratories at IITK to develop a dielectric elastomeric generator (DEG) for harvesting energy from environmental sources. The goal of the project is to come up with a 'proof of concept' prototype of a DEG. The work will involve extensive experiments in the High Voltage Engineering facility at IITK, fabrication of set ups, conducting validation tests on the prototype and assisting in design of the power electronics.

Required qualifications: M.Tech/Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering with experience in any or all of the following may apply:

• Design and development of instruments,
• High Voltage testing
• Fabrication and design techniques for polymeric components

Candidates with B.Tech/B.E. with good academic record may also apply in case they have relevant experience in the abovementioned areas.

Desirable qualifications: Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary group and interest in engineering design.
