Advertisement for Deputy Project Manager

Applications are invited for temporary & contractual post of Deputy Project Manager under the project entitled "Centre of Excellence for Large Area of Flexible Electronics at IIT Kanpur" at Samtel Centre for Display Technologies (SCDT), IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Qualification: Post graduate degree + 5 years of relevant experience) OR (Graduation with 8 years relevant experience) OR (CA/ICWA/CS) at supervisory level a Govt. organization or educational institute or in an organization of repute.

Desirable Qualification: A post graduate degree with at least 5 years of experience. Handling of Accounts / Purchase / Import in earlier jobs. Exposure in a professional setting and practical knowledge of: materials management, procurement, accounts and stock verification.

Direct experience of two years or more in project management in an academic / education institution, administration, accounting, materials management, procurement of materials, stores, stock verification, purchase procedures under GFR 2017 and practical experience of using relevant software in related areas as required will be considered favourably.

Job Responsibilities:
To provide full support to the Project Manager at the FlexE Centre at IIT Kanpur and when needed to take the lead under the direction of the Centre's executive committee and management in one or more of the following:

1. Managing Purchases, direct and through Institute by tendering process, Gem-Government e-marketplace.
2. Maintaining accounts statement of FlexE Centre (consumables & equipment- Quarterly/ Monthly/ Yearly).
3. Handling all aspects of purchase including payment to vendors, book-keeping of purchased items, ensuring proper handover of equipment and consumables to right person in the Centre, maintaining files equipment.
4. Maintaining information files for equipment at the FlexE Centre and providing all logistic level support for sending equipment for repair and maintenance.
5. Dealing with departments (Audit/R&D/Central Stores/Accounts/IWD-Pingla) and operating units in resolving day-to-day operational problems.

One year or till the end of project, whichever is earlier.
