Applications are invited for the following temporary & contractual post to work on thin film electronics at National Centre for Flexible Electronics (www.ncflexe.in) at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. The details of the project and qualification requirements are given below:

Job Title: Sr. Project Engineer

Minimum Qualification and Experience: Ph.D.* (Engineering stream), Or M.Tech + 3 years relevant experience, Or B.Tech. + 5 years relevant experience with experience relevant for thin film electronics.

Desirable Qualification and Expertise: Experience after Ph.D. of working in the following areas

  • Hands-on experience with thin film deposition, i.e. PVD, CVD, ALD, coating etc.
  • Experience with electrical and optical characterization techniques, e.g. I-V, C-V, ellipsometry, microscopy, profilometry, AFM, SEM etc.
  • Experience of working in class 10000 and better cleanroom
  • Familiarity with electro-optical properties of thin film encapsulations for electronic devices such as photovoltaics and OLEDs.

Nature of work: 

The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Development of thin film encapsulation for electronic devices on glass as well as polymer substrates
  • Supporting installation and maintenance of thin film deposition equipment, e.g. CVD and PVD
  • Designing experiments for process development
  • Developing standard operating procedure and implementing quality standards
  • Prepare presentations and reports

Salary range: Rs. 38800-3200-96400/- (per month based on qualification) 

Tenure: Term of the appointment will be purely on temporary and contractual basis initially for a period of one year (may be extended up to 3 years).
