Applications are invited for the post of Project Assistant on contractual basis for a period of three years in project tilted “Design and Development of Quantum Entanglement-Enhanced Imaging Systems” under the National Quantum Mission of DST, Government of India. The period may be extended based on requirement.

Post: Project Assistant

No. of Positions: One (1)

Minimum Qualification: Graduate Degree with 3 years of experience of working in an experimental physics laboratory.

Desirable Experience:

  • 3 years experience in an experimental physics lab (experience in an optics lab will be a huge plus).
  • Prior experience managing office tasks, preferably within an academic or research setting.
  • Comfortable using computers and proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic purchase and procurement workflows.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the lab, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Lab and equipment maintenance, including timely service and repair.
  • Maintaining clean dust-free environment in the laboratory and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain accurate stock registers and keep all lab documents filed, scanned and organised.
  • Assist in purchases, bill processing, annual audit and stock verification process.
  • Act as a liaison between the Principal Investigator (PI), senior staff, and various institute offices.
  • Stay on top of project deadlines and ensure lab-related tasks are completed on time.
  • Coordinate with vendors, institute staff for regular Service/ repair/maintenance of lab assets and equipment.
  • Submit documents in various departments and offices.

Salary Range: INR 13000-1100-32800 per month (Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills)

Nature of Position: Contractual

Duration of Appointment: 3 years or till the end of the project (whichever is earlier), renewed annually based on performance.

Other Benefits:

  • OPD Facility for self shall be available at the Health Center of IIT Kanpur without any reimbursement of the cost of medicines. Any outside referral shall not be reimbursed. For this purpose, a medical booklet shall be provided.

Selection:
