Applications are invited for temporary & contractual post of Deputy Project Manager in Mechanical Engineering Department IIT Kanpur

Minimum Qualification: - Post graduate degree + 5 years of relevant experience or Graduate degree + 8 years of relevant experience at appropriate level.

 Desirable experience: Handling of Accounts / Purchase / Import in jobs held earlier; Exposure in a professional setting of: procurement and accounts.

Direct experience of 8 years or more in project management in an academic / education institution, administration, accounting, procurement of materials, stores, purchase procedures under GFR 2017.

Job Description:

  • Managing Purchases, direct and through Institute by tendering process, Gem-Government e-marketplace.
  • Handling all aspects of purchase including payment to vendors, book-keeping of purchased items, ensuring proper handover of equipment and consumables to right person in the Centre, and maintaining files equipment.
  • Maintaining information files for equipment and providing all logistic level support for sending equipment for repair and maintenance.
  • Dealing with departments (Audit/R&D/Central Stores/ Accounts/IWD-Pingala) and operating units in resolving day-to-day operational problems.
  • Experience in handling of PG and BT-MT students academics records.
  • Knowledge of PG manual & GFR.

Term of Appointment-: The appointment will be purely on temporary and· contractual basis

initially for a period of three years or end of the project, whichever is earlier.

Salary: Rs. 23000-2000-59000
