Applications are invited for the positions of Content Writer (03) to work in the Information and Media Outreach Cell (Directorate). The post is temporary, and the appointment will be purely on an Adhoc basis for one year or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier. The period may be further extended based on performance and requirements.

Number of posts: Three (3)

(A) Essential Qualification and post Qualification Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any of the following areas from a recognised University / Institute with a minimum of 50% marks:

• Science, Engineering, or Interdisciplinary Sciences
• Journalism, Mass Communication

(B) Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Strong writing skills in English/Hindi, particularly for popular science, blogs, websites, social media, press.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) and their content formats
• Ability to understand and translate complex scientific content into accessible narratives
• Previous experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and note-taking skills in English/Hindi
• Should have the ability to proofread content for spelling, grammar, and syntax
• Good Communication skills
• Ability to work with others

Prior exposure to academic/research settings will be considered an advantage.

(C) Salary:

Consolidated Salary Range: 50400-4200-126000

Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience. The selection will be based on a written test/ interview to be held at IIT Kanpur. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/ interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date and place of the written test/ interview. The position is purely temporary.
