Applications are invited for one position of Research Associate-I, initially for a period of one year (extendable depending on performance), in the DBT-sponsored project entitled "Development and Characterization of Regulatory Bimolecular Circuits for Plasmid Control in Synthetic Biology" at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Academic Qualification

Ph.D. degree in a Biotechnology / Biosciences / Biochemistry / Bioengineering / Biophysics or any relevant discipline.
OR
MSc/MTech/ME degree in a Biotechnology / Biosciences / Biochemistry / Bioengineering / Biophysics or any relevant discipline with at least 3 years of relevant research experience (post MSc/MTech/ME) and at least one research publication in an SCI-indexed journal.

Desirable Experience

Strong background in molecular biology and synthetic biology, including gene cloning, plasmid construction, and promoter or regulatory sequence design.
Hands-on experience with bacterial or mammalian cell culture, transformation, and reporter-based characterization (e.g., fluorescence or luminescence assays).
Familiarity with qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, and microscopy techniques for gene expression analysis.
Experience in DNA/RNA isolation, sequencing, mutagenesis, and plasmid copy-number determination.
Working knowledge of biochemical assay development and data analysis using standard laboratory tools.

Salary: 58,000/- + HRA
