Applications are invited for the post of “Project Scientist-II” in the project entitled “Automated System for Cybersecurity Policies, Assessments, Audits, Ranking and Incident Response (IR)”.

Number of positions: One (1)

Duration: 1 year (purely temporary, project-based)

Salary: ₹67,000/- per month + HRA (as per MeitY norms)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Doctoral degree in Science, or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology, from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Research and Development in industrial or academic institutions, or in Science and Technology organizations, including scientific activities and services.

Role Objective

The Project Scientist-II will architect, implement and optimize AI-driven, compliance-aware systems spanning backend APIs, AI/LLM model integration and full-stack product engineering. The incumbent will develop and maintain secure, high-performance backend services and APIs for the different application modules, and will work on data-flow orchestration, system integrations, and the implementation of AI-driven compliance and ranking pipelines using Python and Node.js frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Backend Architecture and API Development
    • Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI/Django) on a microservices architecture.
    • Build and maintain secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python (FastAPI/Django) and Node.js (Express/NestJS), integrating the cybersecurity policy management, compliance intelligence and ranking modules.
    • Implement middleware for authentication, role-based access control (RBAC) and logging.
    • Implement secure communication protocols and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
    • Write and optimize asynchronous tasks and event-driven data-processing workflows.
    • Develop and maintain responsive frontend dashboards using React.js and Next.js.

  2. DevOps and Quality Assurance
    • Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, along with automated testing and DevOps practices that ensure reliability, scalability and maintainability.
    • Support deployment, containerization, orchestration and maintenance across cloud and on-premises environments using Docker, Kubernetes and related DevOps tools.
    • Write unit and integration tests to ensure backend reliability.
    • Collaborate with frontend and data engineers for seamless API consumption.
