Applications are invited for the temporary position of Research Assistant under an ICSSR-funded research project in the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), IIT Kanpur. The project, titled “Strategic Inventory Management Practices for Resource Recovery and Circular Economy,” is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and will be carried out over a period of 12 months. The appointment will initially be for 11 months and will be co-terminus with the project. The position offers a consolidated salary of ₹37,000/- per month for one vacancy.

  • Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Social Science, Management, or a related discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, along with NET/M.Phil./Ph.D. and a good academic record.

  • Desirable Skills: Experience in data collection, statistical analysis, and report writing, along with working knowledge of statistical and optimization tools such as SPSS, R, Python, MATLAB, MATHEMATICA. Candidates should also possess good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Job Responsibilities: The selected candidate will assist in literature review, research design, data collection, analysis, methodology development, interpretation of results, preparation of reports/manuscripts/publications, and coordination of project-related activities and documentation.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, subject to satisfactory performance.
