Applications are invited for the position of Project Engineer to work in the project “Cost of Variable Renewable Energy Integration”. The post is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.

Minimum qualification, desirable experience and other terms for the above post are as follows

Minimum Qualification:

Project Engineer (01 position):

M.E. / M.Tech (Electrical / Energy / Mechanical Engineering) with knowledge of the Power System / Power Sector / Energy Sector. Experience in data analytics and a good understanding of the regulatory and policy aspects of the Indian power market are preferred. Expertise in production cost modeling using GAMS/ Python/R would be an added advantage.

Or

B.Tech (Electrical / Energy / Mechanical Engineering) + 3 years of relevant experience in the Power System / Power Sector / Energy Sector. An understanding of the regulatory and policy aspects of the Indian power market is preferred. Experience in data analytics is preferred. Experience in production cost modeling, preferably using GAMS/ Python/R would be an added advantage.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of power market products and regulatory frameworks, including the Grid Code, Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM), Ancillary Services, etc.
  • Proven expertise in data analysis, modelling, research, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to compile and analyse power system data.

Responsibilities: The key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting strong research, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Analysing policy and regulatory documents, including review and summarization.
  • Performing data analysis and supporting the team in day-to-day activities.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, research articles and documentation.
  • Contributing to tasks and activities relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Any additional responsibilities related to the work as assigned.

Term of Appointment:

As per IITK DORD norms.

Salary Range:

Project Engineer: Rs. 31600-2600-78400 PM Consolidated

(Higher starting salary may be considered for exceptionally qualified/experienced candidates as per IITK Rules)
