We invite applications for the position of “Senior Project Executive Officer” to oversee the daily operations, maintenance and upgradation of a CPU-GPU high-performance cluster.

(I) Department: Computer Science and Engineering

(II) Post: Senior Project Executive Officer

(III) Number of Posts: 1 (one)

(IV) Nature of Post: This post is purely temporary and on contractual basis. The initial appointment will be for 1 year and may be extended based on evaluation of satisfactory performance. Standard benefits available to project employees will be offered as per institute norms.

(V) Consolidated Salary Range: ₹ 70000-5000-200000 (commensurate with experience)

(VI) Minimum Qualification and Experience (any one of the following):

1. B.Tech or B.S. with 7 years of relevant experience OR
2. M.Tech or M.Sc in Engineering/ Sciences + 5 years of relevant experience OR
3. Ph.D. in Engineering/ Sciences

(VII) Desirable Qualification and Experience: The candidate should have work experience in an academic and/or industrial setting with a favourable track-record. Candidates with demonstrable evidence of satisfying the job description given below will be preferred. The candidate should also satisfy the following requirements:

1. Subject Knowledge: The candidate should possess thorough knowledge of the following topics: High Performance Computing (HPC) fundamentals, Linux fundamentals, MPI and OpenMP programming, C/C++/Fortran/Python programming, compilation and debugging, Job schedulers, installation of large-scale parallel applications, parallel performance profiling, high-performance networking.
2. Relevant Experience: The candidate should have good communication skills and experience in the following skill areas: maintenance of HPC systems, interacting with HPC users on a day-to-day basis, assisting HPC research in an academic/research institute, upgradation of HPC hardware and software, AI/ML applications of HPC, managing hybrid CPU-GPU workloads.

(VIII) Job Specification: The responsibilities would include support and maintenance of the CPU-GPU HPC cluster, providing software and hardware support to all cluster users, technical support for porting user applications to the HPC system, including modern hybrid CPU-GPU workloads for AI/ML applications, conducting/coordinating training programs related to HPC systems/software for users, proactively monitoring cluster health, and implementing (pre-emptive) infrastructure upgrades ad regular software updates.

(X) Selection Process: The selection will be based on either an online or offline interview of the shortlisted candidates. The Selection Committee reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for shortlisting of eligible candidates, as well as increase or decrease the number of vacancies and duration of appointment for eligible candidates who satisfy qualification and experience criteria. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualification and experience criteria will not be shortlisted. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the date, time, mode (online/offline) and venue/link of the interview. In case of an offline/in-person interview, no TA/DA will be paid for appearing for the interview.
